Part 3: Configuring PCSX plugins
Now that we have PCSX-Reloaded installed, and the PlayStation bios is in its right place, we can start making some final adjustments.
Jump to:Step 1 - Opening Preferences
First, go to the Preferences menu and open the Preferences window by selecting PCSX Reloaded -> Preferences (or hit 'Command + ,').

Note: Ensure that everything is unchecked in the Emulations Tab, as some of these options may cause PCSX-Reloaded to crash. PCSX-Reloaded will work properly without these options checked.
Step 2 - Configuring the Controller Plugin
Here, you'll be able to select and configure your PCSX-R plugins. We'll configure the controller plugin first.
Look at the "Controller" section in the bottom left of the window. The plugin "Gamepad/Keyboard Input v1.1.0 [DFInput.psxplugin]" should be selected:

Click "Configure" to see what options you can select for the plugin. The Controller plugin configuration option allows us to choose our own gamepad buttons or keyboard keys to act as a PlayStation controller:

Once the Controller plugin is set-up, you should be able to start playing games. If you would like to see how to load a game in PCSX-R, jump to Part 4 of this tutorial.
If you would like to see how to configure other plugins, read on.
Step 3 - Configuring the Sound Plugin
Click "Configure" in the Plugins tab of the Preferences window to open up the Sound Plugin configuration window.

The default configuration should work for most users.
For better performance, turn down Reverb and check "Mono Sound".
For better sound, turn up Reverb and Interpolation.
Step 4 - Configuring the Graphics Plugin
Click "Configure" in the Plugins tab of the Preferences window to open up the Sound Plugin configuration window.

Again, the default configuration should work for most users, but if you want to adjust the settings:
For better performance, select "Never" under Dither Graphics.
For better graphics, select "Always" under Dither Graphics.
